Abstract

Mental health problems are still a global problem and continue to
experience an increase in cases to date. One of the mental health
problems that have also increased is low self-esteem. The problem of
low self-esteem can be overcome by implementing positive
affirmation nursing interventions. This study aims to describe the
effect of positive affirmation therapy in controlling low self-esteem
in patients.
This study uses a case study approach, there are two managed
patients who were given intervention from beginning to end for
seventeen days. Both patients were given the same intervention
according to the predetermined standard operating procedures.
Data analysis was carried out by computerization based on a
comparison of initial data during the assessment with evaluation
data.
Low self-esteem in both patients was controlled from a scale of two
to five. This shows an increase of 60%. These results indicate that
positive affirmations have an effect on controlling low self-esteem in
both patients. Positive affirmation therapy is recommended in
controlling low self-esteem so that it does not become a chronic
health problem in the community.
